Welcome to NanoRad 2024

In the past three decades, the study on nano/microscale thermal radiation has made great progress with the development of nanoscience, nanotechnology, and received significant attention due to its potential application to thermal imaging, energy harvesting, nanomanufacturing, heat flow regulation and local heating below the diffraction limit. Also, by understanding the mechanism of nano-microscale thermal radiation, the performance of various devices can benefit from the modification of reflection, transmission, absorption and emission spectra using micro / nanostructures.
The International Workshop on Nano-Micro Thermal Radiation (NanoRad) has provided an opportunity for leading scientists and young researchers around the world to discuss and exchange the research ideas, recent findings and discoveries, and future outlooks in the field of nano-radiation. Following the First International Workshop held in May 2012 in Matsushima, Japan, NanoRad has been held subsequently in 2014 in Shanghai, China and 2017 in Daejeon, South Korea. The fourth International Workshop on Nano-Micro Thermal Radiation (NanoRad 2020) was unfortunately cancelled due to COVID-19. The fifth International Workshop on Nano-Micro Thermal Radiation (NanoRad 2024) will be held on 17-19 July, 2024, in Sapporo, Japan.
